Magnificently surrounded by the impressive Dachstein massif with its eternal ice, our inn is located in peaceful, natural surroundings close to the famous Gosau Lake. Numerous walking, hiking and cross-country skiing trails pass right by our door. In winter, it is only around 400m to the lift entrance to the popular Dachstein West ski resort. There is even free bus transport from our inn! There are also extensive cross-country ski trails within view and easy access of our inn. In summer, you can reach mountain summits effortlessly by using the Gosaukammbahn cable car, and in a matter of just minutes you can be exploring the popular Zwieselalm area. Alternatively you might choose to take a ride on one of the area’s original “tractor trains” that will transport you to the Higher Gosau Lake or the Löckermoos high mountain moorland.

The wonderful mountain air is in itself a guarantee for the best relaxation and – combined with lots of exercise in this mountain air – for a comfortable overnight stay. Our guest rooms have also been designed and equipped to ensure that you get a good night’s rest. Cosy and bright, and with a warm and friendly atmosphere, our rooms are mostly furnished in solid wood and our guests always feel welcome on arrival. All rooms are equipped with balcony, satellite TV, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, shower and WC. And the wonderful panoramic view is free!

Our dining rooms are not only inviting, but also tastefully designed to ensure a perfect dining experience. Choose from the light-filled winter garden or our sun terrace with a wonderful view of the Gosaukamm mountain range. Our menu includes traditional Austrian home cooking, as well as international dishes. In addition to homemade pizzas and ice cream specialties – also available to take away – our guests particularly enjoy our locally caught fish dishes, game dishes from the local woodlands and delicious “Kaiserschmarrn”.

Breakfast is served from 07.00 – 09.30
Evening meal is served from 6 pm to 8.30 pm
Hot food is available daily from 11.30 – 21.00.

Ideal for entertaining apres-ski or after-dinner drinks & talks.

There’s always a mood to unwind in our umbrella bar right next to the Hornspitz lift. Because for some people, a real day of skiing also includes hearty apres-ski. And after dinner, our Schmiedbar invites you to socialize with a good glass of wine and chat.

Activities & Wellness

Perfect wellness in winter-
and in summertime.

In the summer, Gosau is ideal for walks in the valley, hiking up on high alpine pastures and, of course, enjoying the beauty of nature. The Löckermoos, an area of high mountain moorland and of outstanding natural beauty, is located high above Gosau and easily accessible by tractor train. The primeval forest is in the immediate vicinity of our inn, and has a fascinating history, and makes for an exciting day out for children and adults alike.

In the winter, the whole area becomes an idyllic “outdoor wellness oasis”. Whether skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding or enjoying the magnificent winter walks – in the snow is most appealing to you, Gosau will always have something on offer. Ski enthusiasts will be pleased to note that the ski bus stop is only about a minute’s walk away from our inn. For fans of cross-country skiing, the trail passes directly by our front door. We offer a small wellness area with sauna, whirlpools, solarium, aroma steam bath and an infrared cabin for your wellness and relaxation.
